Streaks on the windscreen are more than a cosmetic issue – in low sun they reduce visibility. Most streaks come from dirty cloths, too much product or cleaning in the sun. Here is a method that works.
What you need
- 7WASH Glass Cleaner – removes fingerprints, grease, nicotine film, insect residue and road grime, and is safe for tinted windows
- Two clean, dry Premium Microfiber Cloths – one for cleaning, one for the finish
The two-cloth method
- Work in the shade on cool glass.
- Shake the bottle and spray onto the glass or onto the first cloth. Inside the car, spray onto the cloth to avoid overspray on the dashboard.
- Spread evenly with the first cloth.
- Wipe dry with the second, dry cloth – this final pass is what removes streaks.
Inside vs. outside
- Clean the inside last during interior detailing, after vacuuming and wiping the dashboard, so no dust settles on fresh glass.
- Use different wiping directions inside and outside (e.g. horizontal inside, vertical outside) – if a streak remains, you know which side it is on.
- Don't forget mirrors, the top edge of side windows and infotainment screens (spray onto the cloth, never directly onto screens).
Common mistakes
- Using the same cloth for glass and other surfaces – residues from other products cause smears.
- Cloths washed with fabric softener.
- Cleaning hot glass in direct sun.
